  4. Remove the fried meat from the pan.
  5. Add the onions and cook until translucent.
  6. Add water and beer and stir, scrubbing the bottom of the pot as you remove the delicious baked pieces. (You can use water if you want).
  7. Add the bullion, potatoes, carrots and bacon. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium.
  8. Cover until the meat and vegetables are tender and the pan thickens, and cook for about 1 hour.
  9. Season if necessary. If you use salt/bouillon sticks, you may not need to add more salt, so be sure to give it a try!
  10. Add cabbage to pot, cover and cook for another 10 minutes until cabbage is soft. (Optional)
  11. The casserole you eat should be thickened with a layer of meat and potato starch, but if it is too runny, dissolve 1 tablespoon of corn or flour in 2 tablespoons of water and slowly add it to the saucepan. Cook, stirring frequently, until thickened.
